Troopers Believe Driver Deliberately Struck Pedestrian in Washita County

CANUTE — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a driver under the influence of illegal drugs deliberately hit a pedestrian today at 6:21 a.m. on County Road 2080 south of County Road 1060, six miles south of Canute in Washita County.

Troopers report Chauncey Bryce Neal, 28, Elk City, was driving a 2018 Mitsubishi  Outlander when he deliberately departed the road to the left to hit Casey Lynn Bell, 40, Elk City, who was walking northbound on CR 2080.

Bell was airlifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with a leg injury.

Neal was not injured.

Condition of driver:    Illegal Drugs

Cause of collision:     Deliberate intent

Weather:           Cloudy 

Roadway:          Dry, Two lane asphalt
