ANTLERS — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that one of their own was involved in a single vehicle accident at 3:23 p.m. on July 23 on The Indian Nations Turnpike at mile marker 34, 18 miles north of Antlers in Pushmataha County.
OHP reports that Trooper Chris Dennis was traveling southbound on the turnpike in his OHP 2018 Dodge Charger unit attempting to make a traffic stop when he reportedly hydroplaned and struck the center cable barrier, resulting in 307 feet of cable barrier damage. Dennis was pinned for 45 minutes and was extricated b Daisy and Antlers Fire Departments using the Hurst Rescue Tool.
He was transported by Pushmataha County EMS to McAlester Regional Health Center in McAlester where he was treated and released for trunk internal, and leg injuries.

Seat belts – Equipped in use.
Airbags – Equipped deployed
Weather – Overcast and raining
Roadway – Four lanes, divided, concrete
