California woman killed on Interstate 40



WARNER —  The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a fatality collision occurred on Sept. 14 at 3:58 p.m. on I-40, mile marker 285 eastbound, six miles east of Warner in Muskogee county.

Troopers report that Rachel Faye Alves, 39, Lancaster, Cailf. was standing in the middle of Interstate 40 eastbound lanes and was hit by a 2019 Nissan driven by John Taylor, 53, Van Buren, Ark.

Troopers report that Alves was pronounced dead at scene by Muskogee County EMS Paramedic, due to massive head, trunk external, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries. She was transported to Lescher Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee.

Taylor was not injured.

Condition of pedestrian: Under investigation

Condition of driver, Vehicle-1: Apparently normal

Cause of Collision: Pedestrian action


Seatbelt: Equipped in Vehicle-1 and in use

Airbag: Equipped in Vehicle-1 and deployed

Weather: Clear

Roadway: Dry
