GOLTRY — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a Goltry man was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred today at 8:18 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 720 and Caddo Road, south of Glory in Alfalfa County.
Troopers report that a 1969 Chevrolet truck driven by Rustin Jack Sturgeon, 59, was traveling eastbound on Caddo Road and a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jackie Lynn Adkins, 74, Ringwood, was traveling northbound on CR 270.
Troopers report that Sturgeon failed to yield at an uncontrolled intersection and struck Adkins’ vehicle. Sturgeon was ejected an unknown distance. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Alfalfa County EMS.
Adkins was transported by Alfalfa County EMS to St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, where he was admitted in stable condition with internal truck injuries.
Troopers cite failure to yield as the cause of the accident.
