Trooper Ends Pursuit Involving Missouri Man



MOORE — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a non-injury accident involving a trooper occurred at 2:21 a.m. on Sept. 19 on N. 5th Street just east of the Interstate 35 Service Road in Moore in Cleveland County.

Troopers report that Oklahoma City Police requested assistance in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. 

Trooper Dustin Carlton, 33, Yukon,  joined the pursuit on I-35 northbound at 19th Street in Moore and became the lead unit and took over the pursuit. The suspect vehicle, a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by James Daniel Riley, 37, Monette, Mo. exited at 4th Street and turned east onto 5th Street at a high rate of speed and went into an oncoming lane, struck a curb, and re-entered into the eastbound lane. Trooper Carlton, in his 2016 Dodge Charge unit, performed a TVI disabling Riley’s vehicle.

Riley nor the trooper were injured.
