BENNINGTON, OK — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 12:35 a.m. on Sept. 18 northeast of Bennington in Bryan County on County Road Wilson N. Jones.
Troopers report a 2017 Polaris driven by Keaton Robison, 21, Bennington, and a 2003 Honda ATV, driven by Joshua Rubio, 21, Bennington, were eastbound when Robison attempted to pull alongside Rubio on the left. the vehicles collided causing the Polaris to overturn on the driver’s side, ejecting Robison’s passenger, Austin McCann, 23, Bennington.
McCann was pronounced dead at the scene with head injuries by Medical Examiner John Miller. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.
Rubio’s passenger Maradeth Shelton, 21, Calera; Robison and Rubio were not injured.
Troopers cite the cause of the accident as DUI by Robison.
The condition of Rubio is under investigation.
