Texas Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident near Marlow



MARLOW — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a fatality collision occurred on Sept. 12 at 11:52 on U.S. 81 just south of Marlow in Stephens County.


Troopers report Billy F. Spieler, 78, Nocona, Texas, was traveling south on U.S. 81 on a 2008 Triumph motorcycle as part of a group of motorcycles. The group started to slow down and troopers report Spieler was not paying attention and had to slam on his brakes which caused him to slide on the roadway. After sliding the bike flipped for an unknown amount coming to rest on its side.

Troopers cite inattentive driving as the cause.
