Teen drowns in Lake Eufula


LAKE EUFULA — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Marine detachment of Troop W reports that a 17-year-old drowned at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026 at Lake Eufula in Pittsburg County, two miles northeast of Canadian.

Trooper Scott Lee, No. 923 reports that the teen, from Canadian, Oklahoma, was on a 12 foot inflatable paddle board when the incident occurred.

The teen was recovered in approximately nine foot of water, approximately 40 feet from the shoreline.

Trooper Lee reports that the teen was not wearing a life jacket.

This is the second drowning reported on Lake Eufula since March 23.

What Happened: Under investigation.

Air Temperature: 78 degrees

Water Temperature: 63 degrees
